Albert A. Buchmeier, 74, of Sterling, Ill., a former resident of Durant, died Dec. 23 in Community General Hospital, Sterling, after an illness of 4 days.

Services were Dec. 26 in Davenport. Burial was in Durant cemetery.

Born near Walcott, March 6, 1886, Mr. Buchmeier was a rural mail carrier and later an implement mechanic with Dickey Implement Co. in Durant. He retired 9 years ago. He had lived in Sterling 3 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Waldo H. (Ethel) Schneckloth, Durant; a son, Vincent W., Sterling; 8 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister.
