BETTENDORF-A memorial mass to celebrate the life of Michael F. Agin, 83, of Bettendorf, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. The family will greet friends from 9:30 until service time at the church. Burial will follow at a later date in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Belmar, NJ. Mr. Agin died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Michael Francis Agin was born on May 20, 1936 in Camden, NJ, the son of Lawrence and Susan (Winters) Agin. Following his time spent with the United States Army, he attended St. Joseph University in Philadelphia where he received his BA Degree in History. He proceeded to further his education by taking Masters level courses in counseling. He worked for many years for the United States Government in the Human Resources Field. In August of 1984 he married Dolores A. Hilden in Drexel Hill, PA. In the fall of 1988 they moved from their home in Drexel Hill, PA to their home in Bettendorf where they still reside.
Mr. Agin was a long time member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, a member of Toastmasters International, Lions Club International, and the Bettendorf Optimist Club. He was also a member of the Quad Cities Friendship Force, and loved to travel throughout the world with his wife Dolores.
He is survived by his wife Dolores and many nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Brian.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Optimist Club, the Lions Club, or, the Maryknoll Sisters Fund.
