Funeral services for John H. Troop, 44, were held Aug. 29 in Davenport. Burial was in National cemetery at Rock Island, Ill. He died at his home in Davenport Aug. 26 after a heart attack.

Mr. Troop was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Davenport. He was married to Lucille LaRue in Maquoketa in December, 1937. He was a veteran of World War II and was in combat in the Far East where he was wounded, captured by the Japanese and later escaped.

He was employed as an electrician at Riverside Foundry at Bettendorf.

He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, Jack E. and Eddie Don, Tipton and Michael, Davenport; a daughter, Linda, Davenport; a granddaughter and a brother, Fred C., Muscatine.
