From Monday’s Daily,
Frank F. Jennings, a well-known railroad man of this city, after an illness of only a few days died suddenly from heart disease at his home, 213 Market Street, about noon today. He had been unable to work for the least two days, but his condition was not known to be critical and his sudden death was a severe shock to his family and many friends.

Mr. Jennings had been night foreman of the down town yards of the Milwaukee for a number of years. Last Friday night he was taken suddenly ill while working and a physician was summoned. He was removed to his home and this morning felt so much better he contemplated returning to work this evening. Shortly before noon he went upstairs to lie down and was found dead by Mrs. Jennings about an hour later.

Sketch of His Life

Mr. Jennings was 48 years of age and had been a resident of Ottumwa about thirty-five years. He had been in employ of the railroad companies of this city for over twenty-five years and had been an employee of the Milwaukee as switchman and night foreman for several years. He was of genial disposition and had hosts of many friends. He was a member of Ottumwa Tent No. 18‘, Knights of Maccabees, the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and the Switchman’s union. He is survived by his wife, one son, Roy Jennings of Minneapolis; three brothers, William, Edward and George; and one sister, Mrs. J. Cavens, of Ottumwa.

Heart Disease Caused Death

Dr. D. C. Brockman was called and pronounced death due to heart disease. Acting Coroner M. L. Kirk was also called and decided that no inquest was necessary. The arrangements for the funeral services have not been completed.
