Davenport - Harry L. Phillips, of Davenport, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2006, 10 a.m. at Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Cremation rites will be accorded, with inurnment at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.

Harry was born June 7, 1927, in Buffalo, Iowa, the son of Asa and Nellie (Anderson) Phillips. He was united in marriage to Betty Gullion on May 9, 1953, in Davenport.

Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was a Machinist for Rock Island Line and other railroad companies for over 45 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Betty, Davenport; children and spouses, Connie Phillips, Bill and Pat Phillips, Larry and Cathy Phillips, all of Davenport; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, also of Davenport; and sister, Eillen Chrisman, Kahoka, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
