Edward J. Moran, father of Mrs. W. J. Desmond, formerly of this city, was buried this morning after funeral services at St. Anthony's church at Davenport.

Mr. Moran had many friends in Clinton, where he had visited frequently. He was 67 years of age at time of his death, being born in Ireland in April, 1849. He came to this country when he was but 4 years old and came directly to Davenport, where he has resided ever since. He was a man well known throughout the state of Iowa.

Mr. Moran was employed by the Rock Island road in Davenport for 20 years and at the Rock Island arsenal for 14 years, retiring five years ago.

Surviving are two sons, J. F. and E. E. and two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Heick of Philadelphia and Mrs. Wm. Desmond of Seattle, Wash. His wife, Henrietta, preceded him in death 31 years ago.
