Eleanor D. Plett, 85, of Blue Grass, IA, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Eleanor was born in Maquoketa, IA on February 11, 1934 to Dillon and Hilda (Korner) Dean. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1952. Eleanor married Wayne E. Plett on September 7, 1957 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2005.

She retired from JC Penney in 1996, where she was a sales associate.

She enjoyed spending time with her dog Kei Kei and watching professional wrestling and westerns. She collected diecast IH tractors. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Bentley Funeral Home in Durant.

Graveside services will follow the visitation at 11:30 A.M. at the Blue Grass Cemetery.

Eleanor is survived by her son Keith (Cindy) Plett of Blue Grass and grandchildren: Ashleigh, Meagan, John "JD", Shirley, Jennifer, Dillon and Logan, great grandchildren: Gavin, Lillian, Tyler, Journey, Layna, Dany and Ashlynn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Geraldine Skriver.

Memorial contributions may be made to King's Harvest Pet Rescue in her memory.
