November 2, 1966-June 30, 2019

DAVENPORT-Scott R. Hebeler, 52, of Davenport, IA passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Genesis East Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to service. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Scott was born on November 2, 1966 to Donald and Carol (Hauschildt) Hebeler in Davenport.

When Scott was younger he was an avid bowler. Scott was also involved in racing, both as a fan and as a race car owner. He was a weekly competitor at the local dirt tracks. His love of racing grew from when he raced go-karts. Scott, JR as most know him in the racing circles, had been employed for many years at Auto Ron's where he developed a close friendship with owner, Ron Williams and his son, Scott Williams, as well as numerous customers of the shop. Although Scott was vision impaired, they preferred to have him tear down and clean their engine parts. Scott was also an avid animal lover. He developed a love of cooking under the guidance of his Rachel Ray cookbooks and family members Leslie, Steve, Julie, and Linda. Scott took great pride in being self-sufficient and was hesitant to ask for help of any kind. He loved to camp, fish and mess around in the garage while listening to country music. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to area casinos for dinner and gambling with Aunt Doris, or some of his other close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
