Herman Petersen, 73, who had been making his home in Davenport, died there Nov. 10 following an extended illness.

Born near Durant July 22, 1886 he never married. Mr. Petersen had been a farm hand working in Scott county and moved to Davenport 15 years ago. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of F.O.E. 235 of Davenport.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Jens Glaser and Mrs. Charlie Hartz, both of Durant, and a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Final rites were held Nov. 14 in Davenport with burial in the Durant cemetery.
