This morning at 4 o'clock occurred the death of Michael Cody, at the residence of his son, John Cody, 1229 Farnham street.
The deceased was seventy-six years of age. He was born in the County Kilkenny, Ireland, and came to the United States locating in Massachusetts in 1852. Ten years ago he came to Davenport which has been his home ever since. Mr. Cody was a man of sterling worth and a host of friends mourn with the bereaved children and relatives over his decease.
Four children survive: John and Mary of Davenport, Mrs. Maggie Willey of Chicago and Mrs. Strasia Penn of Joplin, Mo.
The funeral will take place Wednesday morning with services at Sacred Heart cathedral at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Marguerite's cemetery.
