Word was received here last Monday morning of the death of Mrs. Wm. Pruther at her home in Davenport. Her husband died only two weeks ago and the shock proved too much for the aged lady. And in a fit of grief she ended her life by pouring kerosene on her clothing and touching a match to them, setting g herself on fire. Her charred remains were discovered in the cellar of the residence a short time after the deed had been committed. The relatives left here Monday evening to attend the funeral, which was held in Davenport Wednesday.
