POKORNY SWETINA WILLER FENNELL SHETTER

Mrs Marie Pokorny, a resident of Bettendorf since 1912, died at 6 a.m. today at her home, 1330 Mississippi boulevard, Bettendorf, following an extended illness. She had been seriously ill for the last few days.

Born on Oct. 9, 1868, in Droesing, Austria, the decedent was married there to Andrew Porkorny in 1892. The couple came to Bettendorf in 1912. Mrs Pokorny was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes church and the Rosary society.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Ernest Swetina and Mrs Adolph Willer, both of Bettendorf, Mrs Monroe Fennell of Davenport and Mrs Floyd Shetter of Rock Island; two sons, John and Frank Pokorny, both of Bettendorf; one sister in Austria, and 12 grandchildren.

The body was taken to the McGinnis funeral home and will be returned to the late home Tuesday at 10 a.m. where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning and at 9 o'clock at Our Lady of Lourdes church. Burial will be in St. Marguerite's cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the home at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
