Mrs. George A. Dickinson, 71, a well-known resident of Davenport since 1912, died at 12:15 a.m. today at Mercy hospital following a year's illness. She had resided at 621 West Fourteenth street.

Mrs. Dickinson, the daughter of Alfred and Sarah Chatten, was born July 26, 1874 in Quincy, Ill.; received her education in the schools there and attended Chaddock college there. She was married to George A. Dickinson, Jan. 1, 1900 in Quincy, and since 1912, the couple had resided in Davenport. She was an active church worker of the First Presbyterian church, was a member of the Lillian Stevens Union of the W. C. T. U., and the King's Daughters circle. Two brothers preceded her in death, the Rev. Ivans Chatten in 1935 and Bert E. Chatten in 1943.

The survivors include her husband; one son, W. L. Dickinson of Davenport, who is currently serving with the U.S. engineers in Fairbanks, Alaska and three grandchildren.

The body was removed to the McGinnis funeral home, pending the arrival of her son from Alaska.
