Mrs. Caroline Gosch Wendt, 74, died at 7 o'clock this morning at her home, 912 West Fifth street, after a long illness.
She was born in Germany Aug. 7, 1848, and at the age of 4 came to America with her parents and settled in New Orleans. The family later removed to Davenport, where she was educated and has since resided. On March 17, 1868, she was married to Fred Wendt in Davenport, where she made many friends. She was exceedingly devoted to her family.
Surviving are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. ?. F. Muhs and Mrs. Harry Maehr, and a brother, Henry Gosch, all of Davenport.
Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the home, where friends are welcome. Interment at Fairmount cemetery will be private.
