Davenport Daily Republic – April 6, 1897
At the Academy of the Immaculate Conception, 120 West Eight Street, at 1 o’clock this morning, occurred the death of Sister Mary Bibanna (Hynes) in the sixtieth year of her age. The deceased was a member of the Order of Charity, B. V. M., and was born in Ireland in 1837. She was forty-five years in this state, during all of which time her life was devoted to the task of teaching youth and devoted service in the master’s vineyard. Her death after a race will run will be regretted by the young ladies whom she taught during her term of service at the sisters’ academy.
The funeral will be held from the sisters; academy at 9 o’clock morning with services in the academy chapel, the Rt. Rev. Bishop Cosgrove officiating. The interment will be made in the community enclosure in St. Marguerite’s Cemetery.
