Last rites for Mrs. Frederick (Elizabeth) Horstmann, 93, were held at the Big Rock United Church of Christ Nov. 6 with the Rev. Jan Clinton officiating. Burial was in the Big Rock cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Burkhardt, Mike Horstmann, Fred Horstmann Jr., Ronnie, Lyle and Wayne English and Denny and Gary Meyer. Ruth Riedesel was organist and Shirley Von Muenster vocalist.

Mrs. Horstmann died at Cedar Manor Nov. 3.

Born in Wedendorf, Germany, Feb. 7, 1894, she was married to Frederick Horstmann in Rehna, Germany Aug. 22, 1919. She was a resident of Big Rock before entering Cedar Manor.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Marie English, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Dale (Dorothy) Burkhardt, Bettendorf and Mrs. Herbert (Barbara) Meyer, Dixon; 3 sons, Frank, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Fred, Bennett and Edward, Durant; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
