H. Bender Dies At 64

DAVENPORT - Harold R. Bender, 64, former resident of Fairfield, died Saturday morning at St. Luke Hospital in Davenport where he had been a patient since March 5.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home in Davenport with burial in Davenport also.

Harold Bender was born Jan. 19, 194, at Wayland, the son of William and Idella Corey Bender. He graduated from the Fairfield High School with the class of 1931, and was married Feb. 4, 1939, to Marjorie Campbell, Birmingham, who survives.

Bender was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy.

In addition to his widow he is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Pfannenstiel, Davenport; Patricia Bender, Parkview; Rosalie Thede, Parkview; and Marjorie Kay Bender, Davenport. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Harold Vorhies, Fairfield, and seven grandsons.

Bender was preceded in death by his parents. The family home is at 110 Park Lane Circle, Parkview, Iowa, Route 1, Eldridge, Iowa 52748.
