Services for Harry J. Diercks, 79, of 1307 W. 38th St., Davenport will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Runge Chapel. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is after 1 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport.

Mr. Diercks died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital after a six week illness.

He was employed by the Davenport School Board for many years as a carpenter, last working at West High School.

Mr. Diercks was born in Muscatine, Iowa, and married Hilda Rahlf in 1922 in Peoria, Ill. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1972.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Miss Flora Diercks and brother, Raymond and Werner, all of Muscatine.
