Private family graveside services for Wilma R. Riepe, Bettendorf, will be at a later date at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. There will be no visitation.

Wilma died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at her home in Bettendorf. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Pope was born Feb. 10, 1917, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of James and Lucinda (Hummell) Pope. She married Pete Rudd on April 22, 1939, in Knoxville, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1964. She married LeRoy "Dutch" Riepe on Nov. 5, 1971, in South Dakota. He preceded her in death in 1997.

She retired in 1981 from the former Bendix Co., where she had worked as a cost estimator for 20 years. Wilma enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball. She enjoyed playing cards, doing yard work and mostly spending time with her grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or Visiting Nurses Association.

Survivors include her son, Tom Rudd, and his wife, Vicky, Davenport; daughter, Cindy Hahn, and her husband, Bill, Montpelier, Iowa; stepdaughter, Sherry Russell, Davenport; and grandchildren, Kevin Rudd and Kim Rudd, both of Davenport, and David Mertins, Keosauqua, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers and a sister.
