The Davenport (IA) Democrat & Leader; Tuesday Evening, January 19, 1926; p. 19, col. 2.

Mrs. Ellen M. O'Neill died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. J. Schloemer, 2602 East Pleasant street, Davenport, at 4 o'clock this morning. Her death terminated an illness of the past week, altho she had been ailing for some time.

Deceased was born in England, June 2, 1858, and had resided in Scott county for the last 35 years. Her husband, William J. O'Neill, preceded her in death three months ago.

Survivng are four sons, Francis of Bettendorf, and John, Edward and Patrick, all of Davenport; six daughters, Mrs. J. A. Noel of Long Grove, Mrs. M. T. Kehoe, Davenport, Mrs. August Whipka, Mrs. W. S. Campbell of Grand Tower, Ill., Mrs. F. J. Schloemer, Davenport, and Mrs. Charles Van Camp, Davenport.

Thirty-four grandchildren also survive, as well as four brothers, James Droney, Du Boise, Pa., John Droney, Michael Droney, both of Du Boise, and Thomas Droney of Toledo, O., and four sisters, Mrs. Robert Pine, Mrs Mary Munschaner and Mrs. Annie Murphy, all of Du Boise, and Mrs. Margaret Meinhart of Pittsburgh.

The funeral will be held Thursday from the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. J. Schloemer, at 8:15 a.m., to St. Mary's church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery in DeWitt.
