At 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home, 307 East Eleventh street, occurred the death of Miss Catherine L. Carroll. Miss Carroll had been ill for about three years with a complication of ailments that started with rheumatism. The immediate cause of death was heart failure.

Miss Carroll was born in this city March 29, 1860, and lived here all her life. She was educated at the Immaculate Conception academy and had a great many friends who will mourn her death and sympathize with the bereaved family.

The surviving members of the family are Mrs. Catherine Carroll, the mother; four brothers, Thomas and W. R., of this city, Paul of Quincy, Ill., and John of Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. Louis Carstens of Davenport.

The funeral will be held from the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Saturday morning, with requiem high mass at 9 o'clock. The interment will be at St. Marguerite's cemetery.
