Services for Jeffrey A. Burmeister, 37, of Welton will be held on Monday, December 12, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt, Iowa. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery following the services. Con­tributions in his memory may be designated for his daughter, Melis­sa, and her educational needs. Jeffrey died on Thursday evening at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt from traumatic injuries sustained from an automobile accident near rural Calamus, Iowa. Jeffrey was born on September 11, 1968. His father was the late Lyle Burmeister and his stepmother, who raised him, is Belva (Mosher) Burmeister, of Morrison, Ill. Survivors include his 11 year old daughter, Melissa DeeAnn Burmeister, Welton; his stepdaughter, Tasha Marie Ross, DeWitt; one stepgrandson, Michael Douglass Van Damme, DeWitt; the mother of his children, Lisa Rae Ross, DeWitt; his stepmother, Belva Burmeister, of Morrison; his birthmother, Joyce Scobee Burmeister, of Clinton, Iowa; brothers, Daniel Burmeister, Clinton, David Hollingsworth (Teri), Davenport, Donald Hollingsworth (Deb), Citrus Heights, Calif., a sister, Ruth Ann (Mike) Ritchie, Mt. Carroll, Ill.; and several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father and two uncles.
