Mrs. Julia MATTHEWS, wife of Thomas W. MATTHEWS, 2645 Harrison street, died last night at Mercy hospital. She had been ailing for the past three years and had been in the hospital for ten days. She was born in Davenport on Feb 9, 1863, and was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Martin REDDY. She had lived here all her life. On May 15, 1901, she was married to Thomas W. HARRISON (sic), the Rev L. J. ENRIGHT officiating.

Surviving are the husband; one sister, Mrs. George OSBORNE, of Davenport; one brother, Andrew REDDY, of Oklahoma; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond RIESE, of Davenport, and two grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Fred N. RUHL funeral home and will be taken to the home, 2645 Harrison street, tomorrow morning. The funeral will be held from there Thursday at 8:30 a.m. with services at 9 a.m. at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle. Burial will be in St. Marguerite's cemetery.
