OBITUARY

Gruemmer.

Carl H.L. Gruemmer, 620 Wilkes avenue, a resident of Davenport for the last 59 years, died at 7:40 a.m. today at St. Luke's hospital. Death was due to an apoplectic stroke suffered a week ago.

Mr. Gruemmer was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, Aug 4, 1860. He came to America with his parents when ten years old, direct to Davenport, residing here since. For many years Mr. Gruemmer was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring ten years ago.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Alvina Flamboe of Holland, Mich.; and Mrs. Frank Anderson Of Davenport; and one brother, Gus Gruemmer of Sunbury, Ia..

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Runge chapel. Burial will be made in Pine Hill cemetery.
