Mrs. Catherine Hanley, wife of the late Patrick Hanley, and a resident of Davenport for 69 years, died Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. Smith, 621 East Thirteenth street. She had been ailing for six months.

She was born in Ireland on October 14, 1840, and came to America when she was 12 years of age and was united in marriage to Patrick Hanley by Bishop Henry Cosgrove, 56 years ago. Mrs. Hanley passed away on January 24, 1917. Mrs. Hanley was a member of the Altar and Rosary society of Sacred Heart cathedral.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W.H. Smith, and one son, Thomas Hanley of Chicago.

The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 from the home of her daughter with services at 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart cathedral. Interment will take place in St. Marguerite's cemetery. It is the request of the family that no flowers be sent.
