PATRICK GLYNN SUCCUMBS TO A SHORT ILLNESS

Retired Farmer of Scott County Dies Suddenly Early this Morning.

Patrick G. Glynn, 1001 Harrison street, resident of Davenport for the last 17 years since his retirement from farming near Long Grove, died at 6 o'clock this morning at his home after a three months' illness. Altho he had been ailing, death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born in Indiana, March 17, 1858, and came to Scott county with his parents and settled on a farm near Long Grove, where he lived continuously for 53 years.

On Oct. 15, 1873, he married Miss Ellen Dougherty at St. Ann's church in Long Grove, Rev. K.F. Smith officiating. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Loretta, at home; three sons, Mack of East Moline, Thomas of Moline, and Raymond of Los Angeles; one brother, Thomas J. Flynn [sic] of Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. E.J. Dougherty of this city and Mrs. William Tumpane of DeWitt; a twin sister and nine grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
