Gustave A. Fick, for many years engaged in the painting and decorating business in Davenport until he was forced to retire a year ago on account of ill health, died at his home. East 11th and Oak streets, Bettendorf, Tuesday night at 10:30.

He was born in Davenport on Nov. 20, 1858, and received his education in the local schools. He married Miss Mathilda Boehl on Sept. 14, 1882, the family residing here until three years ago, when the removed to Bettendorf. Mr. Fick was a member of K. of P. lodge No. 50 of Davenport.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Herbert and Frederick of Bettendorf; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Helen Rober of Springfield, O.; and two brothers, Frank of Davenport and otto of Omaha.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Henry Runge's Sons parlors, where the K. of P. lodge of which the deceased was a member will officiate, to the Davenport crematorium for incineration. Friends are welcome at the services at the funeral parlors, but incineration will be private. It is requested that no flowers be sent.
