OBITUARY.

NEWCOMB.

John Newcomb died at the home of his son, Frank, in Rock Island, at 2 o'clock yesterday morning, of the infirmities of old age, having attained his 85th year. He had resided in Rock Island since 1865. He leaves the following children: James, in Quincy; John in Chicago; Thomas in Decatur; Daniel i Quincy; Nicholas in Davenport' and Frank Newcomb, and Mrs. John Haley and Mrs. E. Thomas, in Rock Island. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning from St. Joseph's church.
