OBITUARY.

COATES.

Elisha Coates, died at 11 o'clock yesterday at 1943 Brady street, in his 79th year. Mr. Coates was born in North Carolina, and removed to this state in 1839, settling on a farm near Rockingham. Eight children survive to mourn his loss, two of them Methodist ministers. Mr. Coates was an honored member of the Old Settlers' society given elsewhere.
