Word has come from Cable, Il of the death Monday evening of J. Fred Hebbeln, formerly of Davenport, and well known here and in Pleasant Valley, where relatives reside.

Mr. Hebbeln has been confined to his bed for the past six weeks from asthma and dropsy. The survivors are his wife formerly Miss Christina Carsten of Davenport and six children; Otto of Huston, Tex., Frank of Cable, and Albert at home. Mrs. Fred Schutter of Pleasant Valley and Mrs. Frank Russell and Mrs. Andrew Paulsen of Rock Island, and five grand children.

Mr. Hebbeln was in the lumber and coal business when he first went to Cable from Davenport 42 years ago, and was one of well known old residents of the place.

The funeral will be from the late home later in the week. Interment in the family lot in Cable cemetery.
