Carl Postel, a farmer residing one-half mile east of Donahue, died at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home after a lingering illness. He was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, March 13, 1844, and came to Davenport in 1865. He was married in 1879 to Miss Lizzie Gripp and the couple engaged in farming near Donahue.

Mrs. Postel died ten years ago. The survivors are four children, Frank of Davenport, Mrs. Hannah Hanno, Henry of Puckwanna, S.D., and Miss Emma at home; a brother Gustav Postel of Long Grove, and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Thiedemann and Mrs. Claus Tagge.

The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Burial will be in the Pine Hill cemetery.
