Joseph Beranek Rites Are Set

Joseph Beranek, 71, Donahue, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in University Hospitals after an illness of two months. He was born in Jones County May 20, 1883, the son of John and Anna Beranek and attended schools at Oxford Junction. He came to Davenport in 1919 and had been employed at the Koopman Brothers Florists for many years. He was of Lutheran faith. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lasack, Oxford Junction; Mrs. Julia Christiansen and Mrs. Alvin Roubinek, both of Davenport, three nephews, one niece and two grand nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (DST) Tuesday in Runge Chapel. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
