Former Resident Dies At Age 41

Arnold Vargason, 41, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Moline, died of a heart attack Friday night in Oskaloosa, Iowa, while playing for a dance with the Kenney Hofer Orchestra. He was to have played in Davenport on Saturday night. The body was taken to the Hintz Funeral Home, Oelwein, Iowa. Mr. Vargason was born in Oelwein and married Maurine Bicknell. The couple had moved to Moline in 1959 where he operated the Hana Paint Co., moving to Cedar Rapids in 1963. Surviving are his wife, five brothers and two sisters.
