CHESTER
FINKENHOEFERChester F. Finkenhoefer, 73, Davenport, died Monday, Aug. 10, at Mercy Hospital in Davenport after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport with burial in Holy Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born Oct. 6, *1919, in Davenport. He was production manager for Bee-Line Co., retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force in the South Pacific. He was married Feb. 8, 1943 to Elizabeth Moravek. He was a charter member of his church, a member of the Royal Order of the Moose and of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks. He was Outdoor Club Champion in 1941 and a class runner-up in the MUNI Club in 1938.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, Davenport; six daughters Mary Ann Anderson, Eldridge; Patricia Witt, Grinnell; Kathy Orcutt, Roland; Diane Thomas, LeClaire; Liz Kershow, Englewood, Colo., and Ann Peterla, Davenport; three sons, Tom Finkenhoefer, Aurora, Ill.; Steve Finkenhoefer, Davenport, and James Finkenhoefer, Snellville, Ga.; 19 grandchildren and two sisters Virginia Pauly and Kathleen Nahra, both of Davenport.
