Samuel Moore, Life Resident, Buffalo, Dies

Succumbs at Home of Daughter in Davenport After Brief Illness

Samuel Moore, 70, a life resident of Buffalo until about two weeks ago, died at 3 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Powell, 230 South Elmwood avenue, after a brief illness.

Mr. Moore was born March 24, 1858 at Buffalo, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Moore, pioneer Buffalo residents. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Hadley on Oct. 18, 1894. The couple resided on a farm two and a half miles north of Buffalo. His wife preceded him in death 10 years abo.

Mr. Moore came to Davenport the day before Thanksgiving to make his home with his daughter.

Surviving are one son, Warren B. Moore, Davenport; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Powell, Davenport; and Mrs. William Parrish of Moline; two step-sons, Beecher Bottomley, Davenport; and Nathan Bottomley, Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. David Peacock, Buffalo; a half sister, Mrs. William Kearney, Buffalo; a half brother, Charles Moore, Davenport; and four grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Hill & Frederick's mortuary and returned to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Powell. The funeral will be held from there at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with services at the Christian Union church in Buffalo at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in Rose Hill cemetery.
