DAVENPORT -- David A. Twigg, Davenport, died Sunday Sept. 16, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center- East Campus, Davenport. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

David was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Davenport, the son of Clyde and Hazel (Umbdenstock) Twigg. He married Carol Evans on Nov. 23, 1984, in Bettendorf.

He had been employed as an assembler by John Deere Davenport Works for nearly 27 years. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Davenport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 828, an avid bowler and a member of Hidden Hills Golf Club. Memorials may be made to the family.

He is survived by his wife Carol Evans-Twigg, Davenport; daughters, Angie Evans, Donahue, Iowa, and Amy Pierce, Davenport; a son, Eric Evans, Eldridge, Iowa; grandchildren, Nick, Amanda, Stephanie, Emily, Jessa, Codey and Meghan; brothers, John, Peotone, Ill., Darrell, Walcott, Iowa, Denny and Mike, both of Long Grove, Iowa; and sisters Pam Kagemann, Grand Mound, Iowa, and Vicki Kearney, Eldridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry, and a sister, Nina Martzahn.
