Mrs. Ella [Mary Foster] Glaspell died at the home of her son, Spencer Grinnell Glaspell, 2018 Tremont Ave., Davenport at 6:30 o'clock this morning after a short illness.
The deceased was born in LeClaire, March 15, 1862 and was united in marriage to J. M. [James Milton] Glaspell on Jan 15, 1883. He preceded her in death on June 1921.
Mrs. Glaspell was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. [Ellenore Hart ] Charles Foster. Her father served as a major general during the Civil war and lost his life in the battle of Atlanta. After her father's death she moved with her mother to Davenport. Mrs. Glaspell was a member of the Edwards Congregational church and a member of the Edward Circle of the King's Daughters.
She is survived by three sons: [Charles]Foster of Burlingame, Cal., Spencer, and Albert of Davenport, one daughter, Mrs. B. F. Spry [Elsie Jeanette] of Des Moines, a sister in Glenside, Pa., and eight grandchildren
Burial was in Davenport's Oakdale Cemetery.
