Services for Leo Rogge to Be Held in Seattle Wednesday

The funeral of Leo W. Rogge, who died in Seattle early last Saturday morning, will be held next Wednesday at Christ Church in Seattle.

Mr. Rogge was well known in the territory, having been a prospector, miner, and legislator since the turn of the century. Born in Davenport, Iowa, Rogge was 73 years old.

He came to the territory from Seattle in 1900, mining first in the 40 Mile country near Chicken Creek and later on Gilmore Creek.

He was superintendent of disbursements for the F. E. company in Fairbanks for 26 years. He retired four years ago and moved to Seattle.

Rogge was a senator from the 4th division to the territorial legislature from 1944 to 1948 and was representative of the 4th division to the legislature from 1937 to 1943. The family home was at 504 10th avenue in Fairbanks.

Mr. Rogge is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Rogge, and by a brother, Ado. G. Rogge, and three sisters, Mrs. Joe Caraher, Mrs. Mabel Francis and Miss Ida Rogge, all of Seattle.

A niece, Miss Mary Rogge, a nephew, Eugene Rogge, both of Fairbanks, and a nephew, Larry Rogge of Everett, Wash., also survive.

Mr. Rogge was a past president of Igloo No. 4, Pioneer of Alaska.
