MRS. GILBERT, 55 YEARS IN LECLAIRE, DIES

Death Ends Long Illness of Well Known Woman in Her 73rd Year

LeClaire, Ia. Dec 21 - Mrs. Martha Ann Gilbert, age 73 years, a resident of LeClaire 55 years died Saturday night at the home of her son, John Gilbert, following a long illness.
Mrs. Gilbert, who was formerly Miss Martha Ann Wilkinson, was born June 2, 1852 in Elizabeth Joe, Ill and grew to womanhood there. She was married Oct 20, 1868 to Philip Gilbert in Davenport where she resided for a short time. They came to LeClaire sooon afterward and made the family home here. Mr. Gilbert died Nov 24, 1883.
Surviving are fours sons, Adna, John, LeRoy and Will, all of LeClaire; two brothers, David and Jason Wilkinson of LeClaire; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday in the home of son John and (unreadable)
