Ashley R. Seydel passed away at Mercy hospital at 3 o'clock this morning after an illness of six month's duration. He was born Sept. 8, 1893 in Iowa City and was 32 years old.

Mr. Seydel was a miller by trade and was employed at the Kellogg plant here. Surviving are the bereaved wife, nee Marie Gasser, and two daughters, Marcella and Shirley. There also survive the mother, Mrs. Frank Seydel of Davenport and four brothers and one sister (sic). These are Mrs. Charles Dallas, Muscatine; Mrs. Eugene Kellogg, Winta, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Gould and Mrs. Homer Riley, Davenport, and Louis Seydel.

The body was removed to the Fred N. Ruhl mortuary where it will remain until Wednesday afternoon when it will be taken to the home of Mrs. Seydel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gasser, 1402 West Eighth street. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral services for Ashley R. Seydel were held this morning at 8:30 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Seydel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gasser, 1402 West Eighth street, Davenport, to St. Joseph's church at 9 o'clock.
The Rev. J. J. Schoenfelder celebrated requiem high mass, pronounced the burial absolution, and preached the funeral sermon. He also conducted service at the grave side in Holy Family cemetery.

There was a large attendance of sorrowing friends and a profusion of floral offerings in evidence.

The pallbearers were Harry, Clarience, and Fred Schebler, Fred Kipp, Walter Thompson, and Reimer Soehren.
