Mrs. Margaret Spiess, 35, wife of Henry Spiess, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at the family home, 2303 West High street, after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Spiess was born Dec. 4, 1893, at Carroll, Ia. She was married to Henry Spiess Aug. 31, 1915, at Roseville, Ia. Since that time the couple have resided in Davenport. She was a member of the Christian Mothers' society of St. Joseph's church.

Surviving besides the widower are one son, Wilbert, at home; four sisters, Miss Anna Banscher, Palmeroy, Ia.; Mrs. Henry Clockey, Westle, Ia.; and Mrs. Clem Goodman, Algona, Ia.; and one brother, Peter, Des Moines.

The funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Fred N. Ruhl funeral home with services at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church. Burial will be made in Holy Family cemetery. The Rev. George Giglinger and members of the Christian Mothers' society will meet at the Ruhl home at 3 p.m. today to recite the Rosary.
