Mrs. Ernestine Rath passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora Schneckloth, 1026 West 15th street, Davenport, at 10 p.m., Sunday. She had been ailing for the last five years and had been confined to her bed for the past month.
Deceased was born in Luetchenburg, Germany, June 9, 1851, and came to this country and direct to Davenport, with her parents, when two years old. She was here united in marriage to John Rath on March 29, 1870 and the couple after residing her for four years moved to a farm in Cedar county, near Durant. They retired 19 years ago, and returned to Davenport.
Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss, four daughters, Mrs. Dave Eggert, and Mrs. Emil Lange, all of this city; two sons, Henry, of Chicago and John, of Davenport; four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Schneckloth, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, and interment will be in City cemetery.
