Saturday, January 5, 1895:The funeral of the late James Thompson took place yesterday afternoon. The services at the family residence on Brady street were very impressive. Rev. J. B. Little, of the First Presbyterian church, read the scripture lesson and offered prayer, and Rev. J. T. Meloy, of the United Presbyterian church, delivered the discourse, the choir of his church singing the Psalms. The attendance was quite large and the floral tributes numerous. The pallbearers were F. H. Hancock, G. W. Cable, A. Burdick, F. H. Griggs, J. R. Nutting and E. E. Cook. The funeral cortege was very long, many friends accompany the remains to Oakdale cemetery where they were interred.
