Davenport Daily Times, May 1, 1911

Mrs. Louisa Hohnsbeen died Sunday afternoon at 4:10 o'clock at her home, 223 Brown Street. She had been an invalid for three and one-half years and was confined to her bed last Thursday. Mrs. Hohnsbeen was born in Niehaus, Holstein, Germany, Oct 22, 1842, her age being 68 years, 6 months, and 8 days. She came to America July 4, 1863, landing in New York and came direct to Davenport. On March 10, 1865, she was united in marriage to Detlef Hohnsbeen, who died 13 years ago. The survivors are, five children, Mrs. John Kirwin, Julius and Emil Hohnsbeen of Davenport, and Mrs. Bernard Johnson and Mrs. John Grilk, both of Moline, Ill,, and six grandchildren, Harry and Mabel Schnoor, Raymond, Johnnie, and Melvin Kirwin, and Lyla Grilk, and one niece, Minnie Hohnsbeen, besides two brothers, Detlef and William Wunder. The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
