Delos Romer

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul’s Church. Davenport for Delos L. Romer, 54, of Davenport who died Thursday, January 17 in Davenport Mercy Hospital after an extended illness. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

At one time Mr. Romer was employed as a linotype operator for Maquoketa Newspapers. He had been employed for 15 years by the Davenport Times-Democrat as composing room foreman and in other posts. He was a first lieutenant in World War Two and received the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his widow the former Berneda Etringer Dannenfeldt a stepson, Michael, at home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Romer of Maquoketa, a sister, Mrs. Roanl (Mona Kae) James, Lancaster, S. D., and a brother, Donald of Maquoketa.
