The Pauly Funeral

One of the largest attended funerals held in Davenport for some time was that of Mrs. Bertha M. Pauly, wife of Nicholas A. Pauly, which took place today. Services were conducted at 9 o’clock at St. Joseph’s church, the vast auditorium being filled with sorrowing friends and relatives. Rev. Father Schoeningh celebrated requiem high mass, pronounced the burial absolution and preached the sermon.

Ladies of the Western Catholic Union, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body. Pallbearers were John Epping, Leo Gerkin, Ned Dugan, John Fell, Paul Schepler and Edward Weeg.
