Joseph Engelbrecht died at his home, two and one-half miles southwest of Eldridge, on Thursday evening at 7 o'clock after a lingering illness.

He was born near Walcott, Iowa, Nov. 2, 1880, and married Miss Louisa Wittmaack on Jan. 2, 1903. She, with the following sisters and brothers, survives him: Mrs. Cecelia Kruse, Mrs. Selma Hopphan, and Johann, Henry, Herman and Louis Englebrecht.

Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock and interment will be in Fairmount cemetery.
