The sympathy of the entire community will go out to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Russell in the untimely death of their daughter, Ruth Virginia, aged 8 years, which occurred Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the family home, 1424 East High street. The bereaved father is advertising manager of the Daily Times.
Ruth was an exceptionally bright child and was talented in singing and toe dancing. She had often taken part in public entertainments and was always a popular favorite. She was one of the brightest pupils in Tyler school and was a faithful member of the Mt. Ida Presbyterian Sunday school.
The child had been sick 10 days with pneumonia and it was thought the worst was over and strong hopes were entertained for her recovery when a relapse set in and the end came suddenly and almost without warning.
Little Ruth was born in Winnipeg, Canada, Feb. 15, 1913, and was a great favorite with her playmates and friends. Surviving are the bereaved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Russell, the sorrowing grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. N.R. Macdonald and a sister, Edith, aged 12 years.
Funeral services will be held at the family home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Walsh of the Mt. Ida Presbyterian church will officiate and interment will take place in Oakdale.
