Hell.

Jacob Henry Hell, for the past 39 years a resident of Davenport, passed away lat yesterday afternoon at his home, 1716 Sturdevant street, after a short illness, death being due to the infirmities of old age. He was born Oct. 12, 1821, in Suder, Dithmarschen, Germany, where he grew up. He was aged 91 years. He was united in marriage to Miss Margaretha Moore, who preceded him in death 24 years ago.

In the year 1855 he came to America, direct to Scott county, settling on a farm near Durant, later moving to a farm near Long Grove. He remained there until 1873, when he retired and came to Davenport, where he had since made his home. He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Johann Friederich Hell, of Manning, Ia., and a brother, Claus Hell, of Davenport.

The funeral will beheld Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the late home with interment in City cemetery.
