Mrs. Elizabeth Rix, 633 Harrison Street, died at 11:05 p.m; Sunday at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. George W. Howell, 1002 Tenth avenue, Rock Island.
Death terminated a lingering illness.
Mrs. Rix was born on Sept. 16, 1847, in Illinois, near Chicago. where she was married to Edward Rix, Dec. 25, 1867. The couple moved to Whitehall, Ill., after their marriage and in 1886, to Macomb where Mr. Rix preceded her in death 24 years ago.
In 1913 she came to Davenport, residing here since. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Ben Leaton, Davenport; and Mrs. Charles Shutts of Rock Island;
one sister, Mrs Margaret Little, Quincy, Ill;
one brother, Morris Woodward, Waukegan Ill;
seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Hill & Frederick's Chaple.
Following the services the body will be taken to Galesburg for burial.
She was the grandmother of Harriet Wilsey.
